Mission Statement:
The purpose of the Town of Evans Senior Center is to empower adults 60+ for social connection, promote independence by providing opportunity to participate in a wide variety of activities that sharpen the minds and improve the physical and emotional health of its members.
We follow Erie County guidelines & Regulations for transportation, daily programs and Stay Fit Meals.

Goals:
•To develop meaningful opportunities and teach skills through a variety of activities.
•To promote opportunities for interactions with the community and other participants for social enrichment.
•To create programs that encourage continued independence for all members.
•To offer services and life-long learning opportunities that enrich and enhance participant's quality of life and positive feelings of self-worth.

Hours of Operation:
Monday through Friday, 7:00am - 4:00pm

Membership:
There are no dues to be a member at the Town of Evans Senior Center.  To join in, all one has to do is be present (and fill out a simple form).  Stop in once and a while or everyday - VOILA!  You have become a member.  As a member you must be a resident of the Town of Evans.  Non-residents are welcome as a guest of yours.

Senior Programs and Services:
Older, active adults are invited to enjoy meaningful person and group activities offered at the Town of Evans Senior Center.  Services and programs include an integrated array of advocacy, health, nutrition, social services and leisure activities in addition to:

Nutrition Services:
Partnership with Erie County allows us to provide a nutritional meal Monday through Friday at 12:00 noon for a cost per meal.
Please call the center to make reservations for lunch 2 weeks ahead @ 947-0974.

Defensive Driving Class!

Transportation:
The Town of Evans offers two option of transportation:
•Evans Senior Van, which provides transportation to the Senior Center and directly back to the individual's home Monday through Friday between 9:00am and 3:00pm.  Please call the Senior Center prior to the day of pickup. The Fee for each ride is $2.00 both ways. In accordance with Erie County roles and policies.
•Erie County Senior Services - Going Places Van - Provides transportation to the following:   
1.) Medical Appointments
2.) Food and Nutrition (Stay Fit Lunch Programs and grocery stores)
3.) Personal Business
4.) Social Activities

•Rural Transit Service
•Transportation service is from 8:00am - 3:00pm.  Phone (716)858-RIDE or (716)858-7433 between 8:30am to 4:30pm.  You must call the number to find out how far in advance you need to reserve your ride for Monday - Friday. Please note, however, there is no transportation on Thursdays.  FEE:  $3.00 each way.

Volunteers:
It takes a lot of time and effort to run a successful Senior Center.  Volunteerism serves both the donor and recipient. Our Center is looking for generous people to volunteer their time to fulfill tasks that are needed to help run the Center more smoothly;  such as cooking, serving our clients at our daily nutrition lunch program, leading various scheduled programs and activities, teaching classes, bingo calling, decorating the Center for parties and changing seasons.
