Volunteers:
It takes a lot of time and effort to run a successful Senior Center.  Volunteerism serves both the donor and recipient. Our Center is looking for generous people to volunteer their time to fulfill tasks that are needed to help run the Center more smoothly;  such as cooking, serving our clients at our daily nutrition lunch program, leading various scheduled programs and activities, teaching classes, bingo calling, decorating the Center for parties and changing seasons.

As we progress in phases back to a new normal…let’s not forget the road we just came from! Learn from the journey we all had to go through. What did we learn and how do we want to correct our mistakes. Suggestion …Train your mind to see the good in everything, Positivity is a choice. The Happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts. Evans residents you have shown support, kindness and generosity. “Thank You” to the Kupla family and Town Tax Assessor for their partnership during this historical time. Seeing the senior’s smiles and appreciation warms my soul. I also appreciate the surrounding parishes for assisting me with seniors in the community that could benefit from the homemade meals. Let me leave you with this Quote- If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a day, go fishing. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody. Enjoy the beauty that surrounds us all today: From the Director of the Evans Senior Center.

Food Pantries are Open, We recognize that many residents, of all ages are struggling with food insecurity during this crisis. Please know that there are two food pantries serving the Derby & Angola area.
