December 2020

Dear Customer:

With winter and the holiday season fast approaching along with Erie County’s recent Orange Zone designation, the Erie County Water Authority (ECWA) wanted to inform our customers of the latest news surrounding the ever-evolving COVID-19 pandemic.

ECWA is continuing its suspension of meter change-outs and water shutoffs. ECWA crews will only visit customer’s homes in the event of an emergency. Customers are also not permitted to visit our offices at Ellicott Square in downtown Buffalo. These policy changes will remain in effect until further notice and will follow regulations set by the Governor.

ECWA remains steadfast in proactively implementing measures to protect the health and safety of our employees and customers. We continue to work closely with our county and state health departments and municipal partners as well operate under guidelines issued from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

As we continue to navigate through this evolving crisis, please make sure you’re up to date with all the latest ECWA news and information. There are several steps you can take to remain informed, including:

  • Enroll in an online account at my.ecwa.org/ where you can manage your bill pay, meter readings, and more.
  • Ensure that your contact information, including email and phone number, is up to date.
  • Sign up for our email and/or text alerts.
  • Follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
  • Visit our website ecwa.org for real-time updates and to view the livestream of our bi-weekly board meetings.

We will continue to keep you well informed of any further developments. Please do your best to keep you and your family safe and healthy and should you have any questions or need further information, call our customer service department weekdays from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. at (716) 849-8444. Should a water emergency occur on a weekday after 5 p.m. or on the weekend, please call (716) 684-0900.

Sincerely,

Erie County Water Authority
